ABOUT ME
Fiona Simes is an artist and printmaker living and working on the beautiful Isle of Lewis. Born in Sussex she studied fine art and printmaking in Hastings and Plymouth and exhibited throughout the Southwest until moving to the Highlands. She has always been greatly influenced by the natural world and has a passion for birdlife in particular.
She has lived and worked on Skye and Raasay where she also has an ongoing exhibition at Raasay House and was involved with the local school making scenery for plays and had the whole school painting a mural in the playground, she enjoyed her time there immensely.
Following her heart Fiona moved to the Western Isles in 2016 where she opened Sparrowhouse Gallery in Seilebost, she has now relocated to Laxay and opened The Hebridean Art Studio which looks out across an ever changing landscape towards the Harris Hills. Being on the main road about half way between Tarbert and Stornoway and right on the Hebridean Way whether you are cycling, walking or exploring by car it is the perfect place to stop. There is plenty of parking, and a warm welcome awaits, the kettle is always on...
